Nx Meta Server 6.1.1.42624 is a network video-recording engine produced by Network Optix that forms the backbone of the company’s open VMS (Video Management System) ecosystem. Built on the cross-platform Nx Meta framework, the server ingests, stores and indexes live video streams from ONVIF, RTSP and proprietary IP cameras, then exposes the data through REST, WebRTC and SDK hooks so that third-party developers can embed analytics, access control or vertical-specific dashboards without licensing friction. Typical deployments range from small retail chains consolidating 16-camera sites to multi-tenant cloud hosts managing thousands of remote recorders, each instance re-brandable through white-label configuration files and a documented JSON API. Because the same codebase powers Network Optix’s consumer Nx Witness product, integrators can prototype on the free desktop client and later migrate to their own branded mobile or web front-end, confident that user credentials, event rules and hardware compatibility remain intact across major releases. The current 6.1 branch adds H.265 hardware acceleration, automatic failover clustering and a plugin marketplace that lets vendors ship Docker-based AI containers (face recognition, LPR, heat-mapping) as one-click extensions. Three concurrent server versions—6.1.1.42624 LTS, 5.1.6 legacy and a 6.2 beta track—are maintained in parallel so that OEMs can lock long-term installations to a stable API while evaluating newer features in lab environments. Nx Meta Server is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources (e.g. winget), always delivering the latest version, and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
